This thread discusses the content article: 100% Micellar Casein (Higher Power)

Thanks for the review on this product, as I was wondering whether a decent value micellar casein protein is out there.

Would you say that Ultra Peptide 2.0 tastes much better? Taste is a major concern for me if I'm going to fork over the cash for this type of protein.

I used to get my UP 2.0 from Black Star Labs when it went on sale, but unfortunately that site shut down. Probably because nobody bought it unless it was on sale, lol.

This is the best value I've found - the 100% casein from ON is not flavored well, in my opinion.

I would say that UP2 definitely tastes better, although it's a similar type - they both are banana cream more than sweet candy-like banana. If you haven't already, get the Lemon Cream Pie UP2, it's other-wordly.

You can still get UP2 from XFMuscle.com, they have good prices if you're buying a few at a time.

The only benefit from this over UP2 would be the leaner profile, but the fat in UP2 is good, so no worries.

Thanks, I'll check out XFMuscle.com and the Lemon Cream Pie UP2, which I didn't know about before. You're right, the fat in UP2 is good, and it adds to its deliciousness.

Maybe I'll try this Higher Power version afterwards.

From what I understand, the Higher Power brand is being phased out but will be replaced with a Bodybuilding.com brand - new name, same stuff, shinier labels.

The Lemon Cream Pie is probably the best-tasting powder around.

I just placed an order at XFMuscle.com, which is Xtreme Formulations' own website.

Just in February I had purchased the Bodybuilding.com 100% Casein which was also branded as Higher Power, but that doesn't seem to be available any longer, unfortunately. That would have been the best value that I could find, too.

It appears that the best value casein now is Dymatize Elite Casein, although I went for UP 2.0 for a few dollars more, including shipping to Canada. The Dymatize product also has the advantages of more protein per serving and more servings per container.

Yeah, they dropped Higher Power and raised prices on the house brand. I have heard great things about the new flavors of the Dymatize casein, although I cannot blame you for grabbing UP2 instead.
