100% Egg Protein (Optimum Nutrition) Nutritionists commonly refer to eggs as the "golden standard" for protein quality. Eggs contain all eight essential amino acids (the type that your body cannot make from other substances) and very high levels of total amino acids - especially important sulfur-containing aminos. Eggs are also readily digested and absorbed. As a lactose-free protein source, eggs are often more tolerable to people who have trouble with dairy foods. For these and other reasons, eggs have been a staple of bodybuilder's diets since the beginning of the sport.

Each scoop of Gold Standard 100% Egg packs as contains the nutritional equivalent of seven egg whites with just 2-44 grams of carbs (depending on flavor). It provides a complete profile of essential Amino Acids, Branched Chain Amino Acids and Glutamic Acid.

I am 19 years old and I consider myself to be a healthy person. I work out at least 3 times a week and was taking this product daily.
I originally switched over to Optimum Nutrition's 100% egg protein powder after finding out I have a sensitivity to whey. I bought the Vanilla Custard flavor. When I first tried the egg protein flavor I was less than thrilled. I was used to the Vanilla Ice Cream flavor of Optimum's whey protein and the difference in taste between the two products is definitely noticeable especially when you first switch over. I thought that I would continue to hate the taste, but it surprisingly grows on you. It's not an amazing taste but it is not bad. The powder mixed really well in my shaker cup leaving very little to no clumps. However, it did leave behind a foamy protein mix at the bottom of the shaker after drinking the shake. When mixing the protein in a cup with a spoon the powder does not mix as well. While taking Optimum Nutrition's 100% Egg Protein I found that I gained more muscle than if I was not using a protein powder and that I was recovering faster. The ingredient profile in this protein is excellent. It contains seventeen amino acids and has a high biological value. The price is a bit more expensive than whey protein but it is a good alternative to it. I would definitely recommend this protein to someone who is lactose intolerant, or someone who just wants a quality egg protein.
